Toddler Classroom
A Time of Discovery and Rapid Growth
The toddler years are full of movement, language development, and newfound independence. At Little Steps, we create a safe and structured environment where toddlers explore, build confidence, and begin learning important social and self-help skills.
Our program supports children ages 15 months to 2.9 years through intentional learning and nurturing guidance.
15 Months-2.9 Years
Safe Structure for Busy Explorers
Designed for Movement and Exploration
Toddlers are naturally curious — and always on the move. Our classrooms are designed to support safe exploration while providing consistent routines that help children feel secure.
Low child-to-teacher ratios, 1:4
Certified, CPR- and First Aid-trained staff
Structured daily schedules
Age-appropriate learning materials
Supervised outdoor play in enclosed areas
Predictable routines help toddlers feel safe while giving them room to grow.
Learning Through Play
Building Language, Confidence, and Early Skills
Toddlers learn best through hands-on experiences. Our educators guide children through activities that support:
Early language and vocabulary development
Social skills and peer interaction
Fine and gross motor development
Problem-solving and early cognitive skills
Emotional regulation and independence
We focus on positive reinforcement and gentle guidance as children learn to share, communicate, and express themselves.
Growing Independence
Supporting “I Can Do It!” Moments
The toddler stage is when independence blossoms. We encourage children to:
Practice self-feeding
Begin early potty awareness
Participate in clean-up routines
Follow simple instructions
Build self-confidence through achievable tasks
Outdoor play is also an important part of developing independence. Daily time outside allows toddlers to move freely, strengthen gross motor skills, explore safely, and build confidence through active discovery in our enclosed and supervised play areas.
These small steps build big confidence.
Communicating with Families
Partnering with Parents and Caregivers
We understand how important consistency is during the toddler years. Families receive daily updates on:
Meals and snacks
Diapering and toileting progress
Naps
Activities and learning highlights
We maintain open communication so you feel informed and supported every step of the way.
Preparing for Preschool
Building the Foundation for the Next Stage
As toddlers approach preschool age, we gradually introduce more structured learning activities that prepare them for the next classroom with confidence and readiness.
